Housing

Mayor Khan has failed to make London affordable.

He’s failed to help young people get on the property ladder. Failed on his housing targets – building only 12,000 affordable homes out of the 116,000 he received funding for. And failed to crack down on rogue landlords.

I know, and you know, that Merton & Wandsworth deserves better.

I remember just how hopeless it can feel saving-up in your 20s and still feeling a million miles from being able to buy your own home.

We’ve just moved in to our first house, and it’s an experience I want everyone to be able to share.

If elected, I will

  • Provide opportunity for young people to get on the property ladder by building on brownfield sites, not in back gardens.
  • Secure more affordable housing for Merton & Wandsworth.
  • Crack down on rogue landlords.
  • Support 100,000 homes for £100,000 – supporting residents in Merton & Wandsworth get on the property ladder.

So if you, like me, believe in building more affordable homes - making Merton & Wandsworth an accessible borough for all. Vote for me, Louise Calland, on the 6th of May 2021.

And I, alongside Shaun Bailey (Conservative candidate for Mayor of London), will make Merton & Wandsworth affordable again.
