Climate Change

Merton & Wandsworth should be a great place to live and raise a family.

And everyone in Merton & Wandsworth deserves clean air and access to our fantastic local green spaces.

Unfortunately, under Mayor Khan we have had gridlock on our main roads worsening pollution and air quality.

I know, and you know, that Merton & Wandsworth deserves better.

I believe in a cleaner, greener Merton & Wandsworth that has a smart approach to tackling climate change.

So that we tackle pollution and poor air quality. While making our local area a better place to live, work and play.

If elected, I will:

  • Lead the commitment to be carbon neutral by 2030 - expanding the network of electric car charging points and investing in greener transport infrastructure that works for all.
  • Continue to oppose Heathrow’s pipe dream 3rd runway which would worsen pollution and cause misery for local residents near Heathrow’s flight path.
  • Protect and enhance our fantastic local greenspaces.
  • Push for more powers to implement 20mph zones and crack down on idling.

So if you, like me, believe in cutting pollution. And making where we live cleaner and greener. Vote for me, Louise Calland, on the 6th of May 2021.

And I, alongside Shaun Bailey (Conservative candidate for Mayor of London), will cut pollution in Merton & Wandsworth. And make where we live a cleaner greener place that we all can enjoy.
